Profile of Job

Reporting the Plant General Manager, the HR Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of Human Resource policies and procedure in compliance with UAE labour law and best practice. Key areas of responsibility will be to successfully develop a localization strategy to recruit and develop local people, engaging the Organisation and Managers to develop and deliver a performance culture and outcomes, work closely with Line Managers and the Training Engineer to continuously develop a competency based training system and succession plans, manage people issues fairly and to encourage a strong team culture with open channels of communication.

Knowledge and Skills

Broad experience as a HR professional where you had exposure to HR issues in the either in either the Middle East or Asia);
Ability to provide practical and commercial HR solutions in a range of environments;
Experience sourcing suitably skilled workforce across a wide range of operational and technical requirements from countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Egypt and a range of Middle East locations;
Demonstrated ability in a generalist HR role where you have developed capability at both the operational and strategic sides of the role;
Proven relationship building skills and experience in political environments;
Experience setting up HR systems and procedures from scratch to ensure compliance with labour law and pension administration;
Experience of designing and implementation of recruitment programmes, balancing the need for skilled experienced resources alongside recruitment against mandatory indigenous employment targets;
Working knowledge of the issues in developing a HR function either in the Middle East or Asia and ideally experience leading a HR team;
Experience with HR project planning and budget management;
Experience in the development and management of staff and employee development/ training programmes

Experience

Previous employment will have provided a minimum of 5 years experience at a similar level.

Qualification

HRM qualification to degree / MBA level.
